Willie

I have spent the entire day photographing and cataloging my recent paintings. No easy task. Tomorrow is a new year and I'm determined to keep painting like a maniac. I have been on fire these past few months and have painted almost every day. Seeing the photos of my work is eye-opening because it separates me from it and I can look at them with a more discerning eye. I can see where I need to go back and change something to make it better. I learn so much by seeing them in this form.

This is Willie, my West Highland Terrier mix. I got him at a shelter 10 years ago, and he is he best dog I have ever had. Happy New Year.

Acrobats
Only one more day to go before 2012! Hard to believe.

I have had a great year producing a lot of artworks. My inspiration in recent months has been coming from many photos I have taken on trips. Somehow I am looking at them in new ways and my enthusiasm is boundless. I have also started to try my hand at portraits in oil once again, and am generally pleased with the results.I will be accepting commissions soon of people and animals.

Acrobats is from my body of abstracts in acrylic completed last year. It's 30" X 40" on Masonite.

Abstract in Red, #One

Welcome to Day Three. The painting shown is a 24" X 30" acrylic collage that I completed last year. I truly enjoy exploring new ways to express myself. This series of about 30 paintings spanned an entire year, and I loved producing this body of work, concentrating, not only on composition and texture, but combinations of colors that I have never ventured into before.

$900.00, 65.00 S/H

Welcome to Day Two of my blog. It's Tuesday and I'm preparing for the arrival of my painting students. My studios are in my home, and I have been teaching acrylic painting for about 20 years. I love to share my  knowledge of painting with other people. I have been painting since I was about eight years old, and have never really stopped. I was born and grew up in Miami, Florida, and have lived in South Florida all my life. Even though there is much to paint here, I have also enjoyed exploring other parts of the country and Ireland. I will be showing some of the artwork from my travels in up-coming posts. I am so excited about the idea of the painting-a-picture-a-day movement on the Internet. I will be joining one or two sites in the near future.I hope you will visit my postings often.

Today's painting,
Abstract in Green, an acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, 20" X 36", is from a collection of work I produced in 2009 and 2010.  I revisited this form of work after having painted many years in realist and impressionist styles.

Welcome to my blog. It's December 26, 2011 and just around the corner is a new year. I will be posting on a regular basis focusing on my artworks, and I hope you will join me and see what I am producing. I will post new work just about  every day, and welcome your comments on my work and my musings.

Let me introduce you to Murphy. Murphy is my son Leonard's feisty cat and is my first posting of one of my paintings on this blog.
